The Ayurvedic Table: Cooking for the Seasonal Shift
As the intensity of summer begins to wane, our bodies naturally seek grounding, warmth, and nourishment. This hands-on Ayurvedic cooking workshop is designed to help you transition gracefully from the fiery Pitta season into the drier, more delicate energies of early autumn and Vata time.
We’ll explore seasonal ingredients, balancing spices, and simple techniques that support digestion and inner calm. Whether you're familiar with Ayurveda or new to the principles, this evening offers a warm, sensory-rich introduction to eating with the rhythms of nature. For all who want to explore the ayurvedic way of cooking in a small private group ambiance.
The Menu:
Mung Dhal Chela – savory, protein-rich pancakes with healing spices
Coconut and/or Date Chutney – soothing and sweet for Pitta and Vata balance
A Seasonal Vegetable Sabji – with fresh herbs and warming spices
Rice Pudding with Rose, Cardamom and Pistachios
Digestive tea or tonic– simple additions to strengthen agni (digestive fire)
In this workshop, you will:
Learn Ayurvedic insights into the seasonal shift from Pitta to Vata
Prepare a delicious, plant-based menu together in a relaxed setting in a private home
Discover how food can support your energy, digestion, and mood during this transition
Take home practical tips and recipes to bring Ayurvedic wisdom into your daily kitchen
Our gathering will include:
A short theoretical framework about Ayurveda and the energetics of food
Together in a small group we will prepare 4 dishes
I’l guide you through the different steps, offering insights on how to incorporate Ayurveda principles in your cooking
We will enjoy our food together
