I’m thrilled to introduce you to the heart and soul behind the food at our WILD GRACE Retreat, October 24–28, 2025 in Mallorca – Tina Hoffmann. We first met on this beautiful island, and our shared passion for Ayurveda instantly connected us. We both deeply believe in the power of this ancient healing system to restore balance, vitality, and inner peace, because it supported us on our respective health journey. In my retreats I strive to create a space where every detail, from the morning chai to the evening elixirs, supports your journey of deep rest and renewal. Tina, with her inspiring approach to Ayurvedic cooking and her eye for beauty, is the perfect person to bring this vision to life.

Tina, how did your journey with Ayurveda and Ayurvedic cooking begin?
My mother had many Ayurvedic books that I explored from a young age. Cooking with spices and herbs has always inspired me, and it’s something I grew up learning. A few years ago, my own healing journey began when I faced a gut condition, and Ayurveda showed me a deeply touching and transformative path.

What inspires you the most about Ayurvedic cooking?
For me, the traditions of Ayurveda make so much sense in every aspect. I’m especially drawn to the traditional art of cooking in clay pots, which harness the natural elements to infuse food with nourishing and healing prana.

Is there a dish or ritual that holds a special place in your heart?
The food blessing is a particularly meaningful act of gratitude for me – a moment to thank Mother Earth for her precious gifts. It’s a way of honoring the natural treasures that allow me to create nourishing works of art. I always begin cooking with a blessing and share this energy with my guests, inviting them to fully appreciate the beauty and prana of the food before them.

«The food blessing is a particularly meaningful act of gratitude for me.»

How do you create the meals for our retreat to nourish both body and mind?
I cook according to sattvic and tri-doshic principles to support all body types in a balanced way. I only use seasonal, organic, and locally sourced ingredients. Although Ayurveda has its roots in India, I love adapting its principles to the flavors and ingredients of Mediterranean cuisine, creating a harmonious blend.

How does Ayurvedic cuisine support the deep relaxation and regeneration we aim to experience during this retreat?
Ayurvedic cuisine supports this on many levels, bringing body, mind, and digestive system into balance through: Personalized, dosha-balancing nutrition, warm, easy-to-digest meals, calming spices and herbs, nourishing food rituals, proper hydration, support for nightly regeneration. Ayurvedic cooking is more than just nourishment – it’s a form of healing that calms the mind, nurtures the body, and lays the foundation for deep, restorative rest.

What flavor or moment at the dining table are you most looking forward to sharing with our guests?
So many! Above all, I love creating moments where guests truly eat in the present and feel the essence of Ayurveda from within. Small treats and elixirs add a touch of surprise and delight. It’s also essential for me that each plate is presented as a small work of art – as they say, we eat with our eyes too. I look forward to giving each guest a sense of complete well-being, helping them feel fully at home in their bodies.
